Battle of Waterloo

The Napoleon Hall is completely dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo, with drawings, paintings, maps, and an 18 square metre scale model representation of the battle the “Belle Alliance". The model includes 2000 toy soldiers and nearly 500 horses, most of which are hand-painted. It is possibly the largest existing scale model of the Battle of Waterloo.

The idea of creating this representation in the castle is due to the fact that the great-great-grandfather of the current owner was a veteran of the battle of waterloo and kept a diary of the adventures of the emperor Napoleon. This inspired Albert to build a model of the Battle of Waterloo which took nearly 20 years to complete and which can be seen and admired in the heart of the castle hotel.
